Having received her MFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2016 Maria is now bases in Connecticut, USA where has reopened the doors of her studio originally founded Guadalajara in 2012.
The studio focuses on design in areas such as furniture, textiles, lighting, tableware and cookware. Through her work Maria has developed a detailed understanding of manufacturing, materials, sourcing, and project management. Working side by side with clients, she connect through an understanding of shapes, colors and lifestyles. The results are straightforward objects thoughtfully designed pairing form and function that reflect the soul of the homes in which they dwell.
Experimentation with concepts and materials have lead Maria to be in the top 5 designs in the Battery Park Chair Competition in 2013 . Shown in La Triennale di Milano and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. Her work has been featured publications such as Domus Mexico, Design Milk, Mexico Design, The New York Times, Core 77, Providence Journal, among others.
